Zac Brown Band Tickets for Sale
The Zac Brown Band began the year 2012 on tour this spring to prep their fans for the release of the group's third studio album. That album, Uncaged, released on July 10, 2012 and gave the group a second consecutive number one album. Of course, after reaching number one, the Zac Brown Band's year was hardly over. Instead, Zac Brown Band tickets continue to be made available as the tour schedule continues through the fall.
The concerts come to an end November 17, 2012 when they begin the holiday season at Madison Square Garden. The Zac Brown Band have 26 concerts on the docket overall, with the summer session picking up on August 1, 2012 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, MO.
Uncaged, the new album, has one single, "The Wind". The single has reached number 15 on the country charts. Overall the album is part Southern rock, part jam band, part reggae, and part bluegrass. It is another genre-bending offering from a group that at times has upset the classic country crowd but has quenched the thirst of the more modern additions to the genre's audience, the ones asking for a little pop and rock and roll with their twang.
The Zac Brown Band is an Academy of Country Music-award winning band based out of Atlanta, Georgia. The group lineup consists of Zac Brown on lead vocals and guitar, Jimmy De Martini on fiddle and vocals, John Driskell Hopkins on bass guitar and vocals, Coy Bowles on guitar and organ, Chris Fryar on drums, and Clay Cook on guitar, organ, mandolin, steel guitar, and vocals.
The Zac Brown Band has toured extensively throughout the United States, accounting for their deep grassroots following, and including a slot on the 2006 Bonnaroo Music Festival. It has also recorded four studio albums, and charted eight number one singles on the Billboard country charts – "Chicken Fried", "Toes", "Free", and "Highway 20 Ride" from The Foundation and "As She's Walking Away", "Colder Weather", "Knee Deep", and "Keep Me in Mind" from You Get What You Give.
Born the 11th of 12 children, Zac Brown was raised in Dahlonega, Georgia, attended Lumpkin County High School, and began playing the guitar as a teenager. Previously, Brown and his father also owned a restaurant called Zac's Place. Zac also began work as a philanthropist and humanitarian, utilizing income from his current album to fund the non-profit Homegrown Camp; which Brown describes as a children's camp that teaches diversity, freedom, teamwork, social justice, nutritional awareness, liberty, and life skills as well as music and art.
The Zac Brown Band released its first album, Far from Einstyne, in 2004, and followed up with Home Grown a year later. Additionally, a live album entitled Live from the Rock Bus Tour followed in 2007 on the Home Grown label. The band then signed by Live Nation Records in 2008. The group's first single, Chicken Fried, originally recorded in 2003 and included on the Home Grown album, was re-recorded and released on country radio in 2008.
Later in 2008, distribution of Chicken Fried was taken over by Atlantic Records, and the band's album, The Foundation, was then released in November of 2008 under Atlantic Records' re-established country division, and in association with Home Grown/Big Picture label. That same month, Chicken Fried reached #1 on the country charts, making the Zac Brown Band the first country band to reach the top spot with a debut single since Heartland did it in 2006 with I Loved Her First.
In the very beginning of 2009, Clay Cook joined the Zac Brown Band as a multi-instrumentalist, and they released their second single, Whatever It Is. Like the preceding hit, Chicken Fried, this song also broke into the Top 5 on the country charts, finally settling in at #2. In July 2009, the band's third single, Toes, was released – also cracking the Top 5, ending at #4.
The Zac Brown Band received four nominations for the 2009 CMA Awards; including New Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Single Of The Year, and Music Video Of The Year for their smash hit Chicken Fried. The band also won the 2009 awards for ACM's Top New Group and the CMT Music Award for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year, again for Chicken Fried.
