The city of Yuma is located in the state of Arizona, United States. Yuma falls in the Yuma County and is also the county-seat of the same. According to the 2000 Census , the population of the city stood as 77,515. However, in the year 2006 the Census Bureau estimated the population to be 87,423.

Yuma is quite close to the American-Mexican border and is situated west of the Gila and Colorado River confluence. As per the United States Census Bureau, the city covers a total area of 106.7 square miles, of which 99.3% is land. The city is one of the hottest ones in the entire United States.

The Marine Corps Air Station Yuma is also located in this city. The Air Station conducts a spectacular annual air show as well as many other large-scale military exercises. One of the most popular tourist centers in this city is the Yuma Quartermasters Depot State Historic Park. The Historic Park was earlier known as the Yuma Crossing Historic Park. The Colarado River runs through the north and west side of town dividing the states of Arizona and California. The city is an important stop for the massive truck movement industry between the two states and Mexico.

The Desert Sun Stadium is located in this city. The stadium is the home of the accomplished baseball team of the Golden Baseball League, the 'Yuma Scorpions'. The team won the League title in the year 2007. The stadium is home to two more teams of the Arizona Winter League and was also the spring training facility of the baseball team 'San Diego Padres'.
