Young Dubliners
Young Dubliners are a rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in a chance meeting between Keith Roberts and Paul O'Toole, both of them are natives of Dublin and they decided to come together and form their own band in the early 1990's. They named the band after their native city and called them selves the Young Dubliners.
By the time the band seriously came together, they added bassist Brendan Holmes to the lineup. Soon after they released their music into the world through their EP, "Rocky Road" released in 1994. By the time they released their debut album, they added another member to their lineup, violinist Charles Waltz. The new lineup released their first studio album, "Breathe" in 1995.
The band's live performances have been compared to Dave Matthews Band and Phish. The band faced a few shuffles in their lineup in the mid 90's. Waltz and band founder O'Toole left the band. By 2000, the band released their most critically acclaimed album yet, "Red" on their own label, "Om Town." They got another boost when actor Gabriel Byrne requested them to write the theme song for his television show, "Madigan Man."
