The Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science was inaugurated in the year 1999 and is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. The Pavilion is equipped with a beautiful art gallery, a very big concert hall, a huge theater, as well as a science museum to add to its charm.

The pavilion was constructed after replacing the Washington High School. The structure is very interesting from an archaeological point of view as well as designed in an amazing neoclassical style.

The exterior of the building, especially the facade has been crafted by assembling large pieces of Sioux quartzite as well as a pinkish quartzite. A very small area of the north wing has been created by a black rock. Earlier it was believed that this black rock is actually black quartzite. But the fact emerged that it is actually corson diabase, which is a hardened form of liquid magma.

The Center is geared up with the Kirby Science Discover Center, which is situated in a big 3-floor area, regional in nature, as well as providing a hands-on science experience for the visitors.
