The Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Charlotte is an outdoor amphitheater that is located just outside Charlotte, North Carolina. The center is famous for hosting large and popular concerts. It was originally inaugurated in the form of the Blockbuster Pavilion in the year 1991. The venue replaced the Paladium Amphitheater at Carowinds in the form of a premier concert venue in the Metrolina.

A concert company known as Live Nation currently operates the venue. It is situated on the Pavilion Boulevard in the neighborhood of the University City. A lot of activities are hosted by the venue that include a variety of acts such as rock, alternative, pop music, country numbers, jazz numbers and rhythm and blues along with a lot of special events and festivals of all kinds.

A very interesting incident is attached with the venue. During the Duran Duran concert that was held in the year 2005 at the center, the main vocalist of the band, Simon Le Bon referred to Charlotte, North Carolina as "Charlotte, Virginia"

Another interesting fact that is linked with the center is that, Pavilion Blvd. was named for the center that was inaugurated as the "Blockbuster Pavilion" in the year 1991.
