A sport arena located in Boston, Massachusetts, the TD Banknorth Garden is named after TD Banknorth, its sponsor. The arena is at times referred to as the Garden or the traditional Boston Garden. Formerly it was known as the FleetCenter and the Shawmut Center. The arena is home to the Boston Celtics, an NBA team and the Boston Bruins, an NHL team. The venue was formerly home to the Major Indoor Lacrosse League's the Boston Blazers.The arena was inaugurated on 30th September, in the year 1995. Designed by Ellerbe Becket, Inc., the center was constructed at a cost of 160 million dollars.

Delaware North Companies owns the TD Banknorth Garden and Delaware North Companies operates it. The arena has a capacity of 18,624 seats for basketball and 17,565 seats for hockey. It can accommodate a maximum of 19,580 spectators. Before the 2006 - 07 season, the TD Banknorth Garden was renovated.

The arena has played host to many big sporting events. The venue has hosted the year 1996 NHL All-Star Game, then the year 1996 and 2000 US Gymnastics Trials, the year 1998 and 2004 NCAA Men's Frozen Four, the year 1999 and 2003 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds, the year 2001 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The year 2006 Women's Final Four was also conducted in the arena and the NBA Finals in the year 2008. Various entertaining shows like the World Wrestling Entertainment's WrestleMania XIV, King of the Ring, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and WWE Survivor Series have been hosted in the TD Banknorth Garden. This multipurpose center also conducts concerts, graduations, shows, the circus, seminars, Disney on Ice and several other events. Famous artistes like U2, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, The Who and Genesis recorded and performed in the arena and won the hearts of many with their energetic and exciting performances.
