Pepsi Center is an arena located on 1000 Chopper Circle, Denver, Colorado, and is home of the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Mammoth and Colorado Crush. Also the arena frequently serves as a concert venue. It was opened on October 1999, marked by a Celine Dion concert, owned and operated by Stan Kroenke, designed by HOK Sport with construction cost of $160 million USD and capacity of 19,309 for basketball, 18,007 for ice hockey and 17,417 for arena football.
It was named for its chief corporate sponsor, PepsiCo. The venue was constructed as part of a massive 6-year sporting venue upgrade in Denver along with Coors Field. The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche played in McNichols Sports Arena, before the construction of Pepsi Center. The arena hosted the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals, the 2001 NHL All-Star Game, from 2004 to 2006, it hosted the Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament, in 2005 the NBA All-Star Game and in 2007 the NCAA Men's ice hockey Frozen Four West Regional. On April 10th and 12th, 2008 the arena hosted the NCAA Men's ice hockey Frozen Four tournament, also the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
