Seattle Area Ticket Broker - Seller

Key Arena KeyArena is located at 305 Harrison Street in Seattle and its primary tenant is the Seattle Storm of the WNBA. The arena is used for circuses, ice shows and concerts, and also it hosted the 1974 NBA All-Star Game. It was home to the Seattle SuperSonics and the Seattle Thunderbirds. In 1992 they hosted the Memorial Cup at the arena. It was opened in 1962 and renovated in 1994, bringing the arena up to NBA standards of the day, and it is owned and oprated by City of Seattle. The construction costs are $74.5 million and the capacity is 17,098 for basketball, 15,177 for ice hockey and 16,641 for concerts.

The naming rights of the arena cost KeyCorp $15.1 million and are in effect through 2011, but because the arena has lost its major tenant, KeyCorp may try to amend or back out of the naming rights deal. After the renovation the original acoustical panels were refurbished and reused, the court was lowered 35 feet below street level to allow for 3,000 more seats, the wood, steel and concrete from the demolition was mainly reused in construction and on November 4, 1995 was the first game that the Seattle SuperSonics played in the rebuilt arena, against the Los Angeles Lakers.

There were a few proposals for expanding KeyArena to nearly twice its current size to accommodate new shops, restaurants and a practice court, but these proposals never came to fruition.
