The Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, now known as the Honda Center is an indoor arena in Anaheim, California, and is home of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks, and also was home of the former NLL's Anaheim Storm. The arena lies northeast across State Route 57 from Angel Stadium and roughly 5 miles from Disneyland.
It was completed in 1993 at a cost of $123 million and was originally named the Anaheim Arena, owned by city of Anaheim and operated by Anaheim Arena Management, LLC. Over 10 years in October 1993 Arrowhead Water paid $15 million for the naming rights, and later, in October 2006 Honda acquired the naming rights to the arena for $60 million over 15 years and changed its name.
The capacity of the arena is 17,600 for basketball, 17,174 for ice hockey and 18,325 for concert. The arena hosted a lot of different events like few WWE major events, such as WrestleMania 2000 (XVI), WrestleMania XII and the Royal Rumble in 1999, UFC 59, UFC 63, and UFC 76, a lot of concerts like Aerosmith, Nine Inch Nails, Mariah Carey and others. From 1993 to 1999 the arena was a home of the Anaheim Bullfrogs of Roller Hockey International and the Anaheim Piranhas of the Arena Football League from 1996 to 1997.
Tina Turner played her last concert at the arena on December 6, 2000 for record breaking Twenty Four Seven Tour and after popular demand she will be coming back to the arena on October 14th, 2008 for her Tina: Live in Concert Tour.
