Heinz Field is a football stadium that is located at 100, Art Rooney Ave in the North Shore neighborhood, just across the Allegheny River from downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was inaugurated on 24th August 2001 though the construction work began on 18th June 1999. It is owned and operated by the Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh. A renowned architectural firm, HOK Sport designed the stadium. A total of $281 million were spent in its construction. The stadium has a seating capacity for 65,050 spectators. It is also equipped with 6,600 club seats and 127 luxury suites that can accommodate 1,500 people.

At present, the Heinz Field serves as the home ground to the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL franchise and the University of Pittsburgh Panthers college football team. Though the stadium is primarily used for football matches, but many soccer games and various concerts have also been held in the arena. Soon after the inauguration of the stadium, the very first event was not a football match but a concert by pop band 'N Sync. The AFC Championship Games were held twice in the stadium, one on 27th January, 2002 against New England Patriots in which 64, 704 people swarmed the venue and another on 23rd January, 2005 against New England Patriots in which an attendance of 65,242 people was seen. The stadium is bowl shaped with an open end facing south. One can view the Pittsburgh skyline across the Ohio River from the open end. The stadium stands on the northern bank of the Ohio River. The H. J. Heinz Company has gained the naming rights of the stadium. Hence the ESPN announcer calls it "The Big Ketchup Bottle." It is also popularly known as "The Mustard Palace" On the first two floors near the East Entrance, The Coca-Cola Great Hall is situated. It is used for hosting post and pre-game audience shows.
