The Eugene O'Neill Theater is a Broadway theater situated at 230, West 49th Street in Manhattan. Herbert J Krapp designed the building. The theatre was built for the Shuberts as part of a theater and hotel complex. The theater features an elegant Adamesque interior. The theatre was inaugurated on 24th November, in the year 1925. It opened with a musical performance by Mayflowers. In the year 1945, the name of the theater was changed to the Coronet. Later in the year 1959, it was again renamed as The Eugene O'Neill Theater, to honor Eugene O'Neill, the Nobel Prize-winning playwright. One who visits the theater will notice that a number of Neil Simon hits are being played in the theater. The Last of the Red Hot Lovers started off the trend in the year 1969. Simon bought it and became the owner of the Eugene O'Neill Theater but later in the year 1982 sold it to the Jujamcyn Theaters. So magnificent is the building that it has been regarded as a landmark of New York City in the year 1987.

The theater since its inception has hosted many successful and entertaining shows. Arthur Miller's debut show, “The Man Who Had All the Luck” was showcased here. Other dramas which have been showcased in the theater includes Elmer Rice's comedy “Dream Girl” starring Wendell Corey and Betty Field, Miller's “All My Sons” featured Arthur Kennedy and Ed Begley. “Grease” is one of the longest running musicals that have been played here. Arthur Miller's “Death of a Salesman,” was also played and starred Brian Dennehy as Willy Loman. “The Full Monty” musical went for 770 performances, which is just amazing. “Good Vibrations,” a Broadway jukebox musical featured the music of The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson. It ran for 94 performances. The Tony award - winning rock musical “Spring Awakening” was also played in the theater.
