The Edward Jones is a multi purpose stadium located on 701 Convention Plaza, St. Louis, Missouri, and is the home of the St. Louis Rams of the NFL. The venue was constructed largely to lure an NFL team back to St. Louis, and to serve as a convention center. It was opened on November 12, 1995, owned and operated by St. Louis Regional Sports Authority, designed by HOK Sport and a cost of $280 million and with a capacity of 66,965.
From the opening it was known as the Trans World Dome, later it was known Trans World Airlines until 2001 and then was known as the Dome at America's Center until January 25, 2002, when the naming rights were acquired by Edward Jones Investments. In 1996 the arena hosted the first Big 12 Conference football championship game and the third game, in 1998, was also held in the dome.
In 1999 it became the site of the biggest indoor gathering in United States history, when Pope John Paul II held mass in the stadium, and over 104,000 people attended the service. On July 25, 2003, The Edward Jones Dome hosted the Metallica's 2003 Summer Sanitarium Tour featured headliner Metallica, with bands Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Deftones and Mudvayne. Also in July 2007, the arena hosted the Nazarene Youth Conference "Water Fire Wind", noted for renovating 35 public schools in the St. Louis area.
