Dodger Stadium is a baseball stadium located in Los Angeles, California. It was designed by the architect Captain Emil Praeger. The construction lasted 3 years, from 1959 to 1962. The stadium was opened on April 10, 1962 and the total cost was $23 million. Since the opening the stadium is a home of the Major League Baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers and they are also the owners of the stadium. It has a capacity of 56,000 seats. Dodger Stadium has parking for 16,000 cars. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Since the opening more than 125 million fans has visited this stadium.

In 2003 in a poll of Major League players, 23,2 percent of the players rated Dodger Stadium surface as a best in the league. The stadium was host of eight World Series, in 1980 hosted the Major League Baseball All-Star Game and the Olympic Games' baseball competition in 1984. Dodger Stadium has been the site of several non-baseball major events.
