Boston Opera House The very first Boston Opera House was constructed in the year 1909 on Huntington Ave. in Boston, Massachusetts. Despite its miniature architecture, it was called the "perfect jewel-box of an opera house" and was the venue for many local opera companies and tours. After the huge destruction that was caused in the Second World War, the venue fell into disrepair. The current Opera house in Boston was opened in the year 1928 and came into the possession of Ms. Sarah Caldwell, at the desire of her supporter and friend, Ms. Timken who was the heiress to a well-known company in New England.

The house was originally the B.F. Keith Theater that played host to various shows and films. After a massive flood destroyed the whole venue in the year 1991, it was decided that the original elegance of the Opera house would be restored. People started taking interest in the restoration task. A 30 million dollar renovation project was involved in the process. It was a project that was started by the Mayor, along with the local politicians and the Clear Channel Corporation to maintain the natural lushness of the Opera House.

Now it is one of the best theaters situated in Boston, and offers a capacity of 2,500 seats. It is also the place for the famous classic ballet shows “Nutcracker” which is held every year in Boston. Today this revamped venue is extremely famous for hosting well-known artists and big stage shows in front of massive audiences. Some of the past but famous shows that were held at the house are:Bowfire (4/20/2008), The Drowsy Chaperone (4/22/2008 – 5/4/2008), Dolly Parton (5/5/2008), Lewis Black (5/8/2008), David Copperfield (5/9/2008 – 5/11/2008) and Jesus Christ Superstar (5/16/2008 - 5/18/2008)
