Auto Club Speedway Information and Schedule
The Auto Club Speedway is the world famous race track located in Fontana, CA. This massive racetrack is home to the Auto Club 400 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the Royal Purple 300 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and the MAVTV 500 in the IZOD IndyCar Series. Auto Club Speedway tickets are racing tickets to enjoy the most skilled drivers in the world as they attempt to tame the two-mile D-shaped oval course.
This track is an excellent example of reclaiming an area. The grounds had been the Kaiser Steel Mill until 1994. Grond was broken and the old industrial buildings were torn down and grandstands and luxury boxes were erected. Now the site holds 91,200 racing fans that have come from near and far to enjoy everything from stock car racing to open-wheel racing to drag racing. It took two years and $100 million to build this track, but it was every minute of labor and every dollar spent on construction.
Until recently the venue had been known as the California Speedway. Just as sponsors play a major role in supporting drivers, they also play a role in supporting tracks. Auto Club went so far as to buy naming rights for the raceway the entire year, as opposed to just purchasing naming rights for a single race. The change in name does not change the fact that this is one of the most exciting auto racing tracks in the country.
