Valley Center a census-designated place (CDP) in the state of California, United States. The CDP lies in the San Diego County. According to the 2000 census, the population of the city stands at at 7,323.

Over the years, the Valley Center has established a reputation of being a primarily agricultural community. However, in recent years one finds this place making a transition from a small rural town to a suburban community. Of late large fruit orchards in this CDP have been given away for housing development. As a result, presently Valley Center is a semi-rural area. As per the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 75.8 km², all of which is land.

A popular traditional event in the Valley Center is the festival 'Western Days'. Traditionally, the event is held over the Memorial Days Weekend at the Valley Center Community Center. A community parade is gathered at the Center as a part of the celebrations.

Valley Center is a popular tourist spot. The scenic beauty of this calm town is unmeasurable. One of the most popular tourist spots is the 'Pikake Botanical Gardens'. The 'Pikake Botanical Gardens' is a private botanical garden spread over an area of 6 acres. Some other popular tourist spots are the 'Metta Forest Monastery', the 'Bates Nut Farm Local farm', the 'Valley View Casino', the 'Hellhole Canyon Open Space Preserve' and the 'Valley Center History Museum'. Of these, the Bates Nut Farm Local farm is particularly famous for hosting a number of country events. Another popular spot is the 'Lake Wohlford'. The lake is a popular fishing spot for all, natives and tourists.
