UNLV Rebels Tickets for Sale

The new coach has a talented young crop of players who are back, especially in the frontcourt. 6'-7' senior Odartey Blankson (17 ppg, 52% FGs, 10.3 rpg) had a fine season as the team's leading scorer and rebounder. 6'-7' Romel Beck (14 ppg) and 6'-8' junior Louis Amundson (4 rpg) anchor a deep front line, so this team could be very good again.

5'-10' senior Jerel Blassingame leads the uptempo attack and led the team in assists with 6.6 assists per game. Sophomore guard Mike Umeh will get more time. UNLV shot 47% from the field, 70% from the line while averaging 74 points pg. UNLV was 4-9 SU/6-7 ATS on the road, 14-4 SU/9-6 ATS at home.
Last season ended in a difficult fashion for UNLV (18-13). They lost to Utah 73-70 on a last second shot in the MWC title game, costing them a shot at the big Dance. Then the Rebels went to the NIT and had no interest in an 84-69 loss to Boise State. Still, they accomplished a lot in a trying season, where head coach Charlie Spoonhour stepped down late in the year.

UNLV has a new coach in Lon Kruger, after a four-year stint in the NBA. He spent three seasons (2000-03) as head coach of the Hawks and then part of this season as an assistant with the Knicks. At the college level, Kruger compiled a 318-233 (.577) overall mark in 18 seasons at Pan American (1982-86), Kansas State (1986-90), Florida (1990-96) and Illinois (1996-2000).
