Now that the Las Vegas resident with his better half is over, Tim McGraw is embarking on the Two Lanes of Freedom Tour in the spring and summer of 2013. The concert tour, named for the new album, is taking the country star to 30 cities from the beginning of May until the end of July. Joining him on tour will be Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft. This is a second opportunity for fans to find Tim McGraw tickets and this time he is skipping the duets and focusing on his solo material.

The majority of this material is likely going to be taken from the new album, which dropped in February 2013. Two Lanes of Freedom, his first with Big Machine Records, topped the Billboard country charts and reached number two on the Billboard 200. This album has three singles: “Truck Yeah” (went gold), “One of Those Nights” (went gold too) and “Highway Don’t Care”.

Tim McGraw History

Tim McGraw is not only a star of the country genre and the husband of Faith Hill, but the son of famed MLB reliever Tug McGraw. Tug was not around when Samuel Timothy McGraw was a child. That did not stop Tim but it certainly did not make for an easy childhood. Still, his family believed in him and McGraw excelled as a pitcher, much like his father. Tim had a slight interest in music in those early years, but he did not begin to pursue the interest until college.

There he learned to passably play the guitar. Though still not a strong musician, he left after a couple years in college, inspired by the death of country star Keith Whitley. It took three years for McGraw to hone his craft in Nashville and even gain the notice of Curb Records. This opportunity arose because of his estranged father. Tug knew people at Curb and asked that the take a look at his son’s work. They did, Tim signed with the label, and Tim and Tug began to try and connect after so many years apart.

Like so many before him, McGraw’s debut album did not make much of an impact. Unlike so many before him, the next four he released (in the 1990s) were huge hits and made him a star. His second album, Not a Moment Too Soon, would be his most successful. It went number one in on the Billboard 200 and 6-time platinum in the United States. All I Want, Everywhere, and A Place in the Sun closed out the decade in multi-platinum fashion. In addition to the success as a musician, Tim met his future wife, Faith Hill, while touring in support of these albums.

Tim McGraw continued his success in the 21st century. Three more studio albums went multi-platinum, another one went platinum and his compilations were verifiable hits. His fans simply could not get could not get enough of the signature style that produced songs like “Don’t Take the Girl” and “It’s Your Love”.

He has remained a huge star in the country music community, but the albums after Let It Go began to see dramatic decreases in sales. Still, he is a huge draw on tour. Tim McGraw tickets continue to sell out huge venues, though he does tend to take a few of his famous friends out on the road with him just to make sure those concerts keep the arenas packed.
