The musical was performed at the Kitchen in 2004 and gives off an intense submissiveness that would be overwhelming if not for the light, humorous wit that's found beneath. GinGin (played by Jody Flader), the heroine, is the daughter of electronics magnate and philanthropist Dr. Rushower (played by Peter Friedman). They find they have something in common: concern for Kayrol Island's exploited workers, who have to carry metal slugs on their shoulders. (The slugs are used to weigh down everyday objects like toasters and telephones that could fly away.) This musical deals with topics like fiendish industrial autocrats like George Klatter (played by Stephen Lee Anderson, who gives off a Lex Luthor-like vibe), unthinking do-gooders, the limited attention span of news people, and the literal instability of a technology-driven culture.
