But he invites Paris to a masquerade and feast he traditionally holds, so that he can try and attract Juliet. Romeo and Benvolio see a Capulet servant carrying invitations to the feast and decide to attend. Romeo decides to join him because Rosalina will also be present. At the feast, Romeo sees Juliet and instantly falls in love with her. Juliet also feels attracted to him and they both talk and then kiss. They later find out that they belong to feuding families and this upsets both of them. But they are unrelenting and declare their love for each other.
Romeo then confesses his love for Juliet to his friend Friar Lawrence, Friar decides to help them get married in secret, in the hope that this may put an end to the feuding between the two families and bring peace. Later in a duel, Romeo kills Juliet's cousin Tybalt and the Prince of Verona banishes Romeo. Romeo then sneaks into Juliet's room and they consummate their love and marriage. Romeo bids farewell to Juliet and leaves for Mantua the next morning, not knowing if he will ever see Juliet again. Juliet finds out that she is about to get married to Paris in 3 days but she feels she cannot as she is already married to Romeo.
Friar comes up with a solution, he will give Juliet a potion that will make her appear dead. Then her family will bury her and Friar and Romeo will come and rescue her. Thus Romeo and Juliet will be able to lead their loves happily away from their families. On finding out that her marriage has been moved ahead by a day, Juliet drinks the potion. Her nurse informs the family that Juliet has died and she is laid to rest. On the other hand, the messenger sent by Friar to inform Romeo does not reach him and Romeo thinks that Juliet is dead. He feels he does not want to live without Juliet. On reaching her tomb, Romeo encounters Paris and kills him. The he sees Juliet's dead body and consumes poison and dies. Friar Lawrence reaches to find Romeo and Paris dead, and at the same Juliet awakens. When she sees that Romeo has died by consuming poison, she kisses his poisoned lips, and when that does not kill her she buries Romeo's dagger into her chest and falls dead.Seeing their children's bodies, Capulet and Montague agree to end their long-standing feud and to raise gold statues of their children side-by-side in a newly peaceful Verona.
