Monty Python's Spamalot Tickets

It is a musical comedy from the depraved minds of the English geniuses that came up with the Life of Brian and Now for Something Completely Different. Monty Python’s Spamalot is a celebration of the classic film Monty Python and the Holy Grail and the production, written by python member Eric Idle, makes full use of the Broadway stage (not Andrew Lloyd Webber!) to tell an amusing tale of King Arthur, his round table, and the search for the Holy Grail, or maybe a producer willing to fund a quirky little musical about the journey. Monty Python’s Spamalot tickets are certainly welcome in any town, which is a comforting thought while the cast and crew traverse the United States on a national tour.

The show is a genius adaptation. Idle, along with composers John Du Prez and Neil Innes, is careful to keep the silliness of the big screen cousin with each of the most memorable scenes. Camelot is a silly place, there is a Trojan Horse and annoying French guards, and there is a killer rabbit. Well, there are these things, but with a twist. As this is a show on the grand stage of musical theater, the adaptation is able to adjust the jokes meant to poke fun at the fact it is a movie to the fact to this is a live stage show. Thus, there is a marriage proposal by the end along with a puppeteer, a search for a producer of a certain religious affiliation, and a big song and dance. Oh, and John Cleese is the voice of God.

If all that is not enough to pique one’s interest, obviously the he or she is not a Monty Python fan and they can look elsewhere for entertainment that is not quite as absurd (or meta , if the troupe were performing today).  Spamalot tickets are coming to a town nearby, since college towns and urban centers dot the country. Enjoy an evening with a cast and crew paying homage to perhaps the funniest collection of comedians to ever perform together.
