Legally Blonde
Reese Witherspoon brought the Amanda Brown novel of the same name to life in the 2001 movie Legally Blonde, and now Broadway has relished its opportunity to bring the novel and movie to the theater audience with twist. Legally Blonde tickets give the audience a show that entertains with its celebration of everything blonde and musical numbers that set the play apart from the novel and the book.
After a 2007 tryout in San Francisco, Broadway finally got to see the musical book by Heather Hach with music and lyrics by Neil Benjamin and Laurence O'Keefe. Legally Blonde opened on Broadway on April 3, 2007 to lines excitedly waiting in line, anxious to purchase their tickets. The musical has even made the transition to the small screen, with an aired taping on MTV followed by a reality show, Legally Blonde-The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods. Laura Bell Bundy left her Tony Award nominated role in 2007, prompting the reality competition.
The musical sticks close the story of Elle Woods, a clichéd sorority beauty from UCLA, who uses her intelligence that has been masked by her love of pink and blonde hair and her mission to win Warner Huntington III back by attending Harvard law school. There she learns that her obsession with chasing a man whose fickle view of the future does not include has blinded her to her own intelligence, independence, and skill as a lawyer. Tickets to this uplifting musical will satisfy both the guiltiest of pleasures and those who want to see someone learn to believe in herself.
