Ralph Fiennes plays the role of Frank Hardy. He returns to Broadway after a long hiatus, his last performance was his role as Hamlet over a decade ago. That play was also directed by Jonathan Kent. The role and his subsequent performance won him the 1995 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Actor. Fiennes has also received Oscar nominations for Schindler's List and The English Patient. His other noted films were Quiz Show, Strange Days, The End of the Affair, Red Dragon and Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire. His credits on stage include Brand, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Fathers and Sons, King John and The Talking Cure.
Cherry Jones plays the role of Frank Hardy's long time lover. She won her second Tony Award in 2005 for essaying the role of Sister Aloysius in "Doubt." She had previously picked up the Tony for her performance in the 1995 play, "The Heiress." Jones also got nominations for A Moon for the Misbegotten and her debut performance in Our Country's Good. She has worked in films like Ocean's Twelve, The Village, Signs, Swimmers, Cradle Will Rock, Erin Brockovich, The Horse Whisperer, and The Perfect Storm.
