Charlie Victor Romeo is a live performance documentary that is derived entirely from the "Black Box" transcripts of six major real-life airline emergencies. It is a theatrical documentary where the audience observes the tension and drama that takes place in the cockpit of real in flight emergencies. Each scene begins with actors dressed as flight attendants going through the familiar safety and security routines on board airlines. This is followed by a chain of in-flight emergencies in which transcripts from the CVR tapes tell the stories of horror, bravery and death in airplanes. Realistic sounds and lighting complete the stories.

American Airlines Flight 1572, an MD-83 that crashed in Granby, Conn., November 1995; American Eagle Flight 4184, an ATR-72 accident in Roselawn, Ind., October 1994; AeroPeru Flight 603, a Boeing 757 that went down in October 1996; YUKLA 27, a U.S. Air Force E-3A AWACS mishap in September 1995; JAL Flight 123, a Boeing 747 that crashed on August 1985; and, United Airlines Flight 232, the infamous DC-10 crash at Sioux City, Iowa, in July 1989.
CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO has been awarded the 2000 Drama Desk Awards for Best Unique Theatrical Experience and Outstanding Sound Design and the 2000 New York International Fringe Festival awards for Overall Excellence in Drama and Outstanding Sound Design. It has also been awarded the Backstage West Garland Award for Best Sound Design 2002. In 2004, Charlie Victor Romeo was named by Time Magazine as one of the top ten plays of the year!
