This arrangement was Composed by Vincenzo Bellini. Knowing that this opera is based off of the story of Romeo and Juliet, I can't help but wonder if the name came from Juliet's last name, Capulet. This also makes me wonder if the name of the other opera is from Romeo's last name, Montague. Arguably the world's most famous love story, the saga of Romeo and Juliet's forbidden romance and their feuding families has been told over and over yet never seems to lose its potency. Romeo and Juliet in my eyes will always be one that will always be the most appealing and a classic. The heart-rending tale of young star-crossed lovers provides the inspiration for some of Bellini's most tender and elegiac melodies. Maestro Silvio Barbato, director Paul Curran, and designer Kevin Knight promise a smartly updated production of this operatic classic.

The role of Giulietta will be sung by soprano Hoo-Ryoung Hwang, who appeared in Spoleto's 2003 production of Lakmé, with mezzo-soprano Theodora Hanslowe as Romeo. The role of Tebaldo will be sung by Jesus Garcia with tenor Julien Robbins as Lorenzo.
