In the next few scenes audience will see Weiss tries to connect with his father. His father had always withheld parental approval. He then meets his old time friend who remained in Brooklyn while Weiss moved on. He also returns back to his home to meet his wife and try for the last time to save his marriage. Soon Weiss finds out that that his agent changed the essence of his book to make successful for a Hollywood screenplay. The play portrays a normal man thinks he has found success. But he realizes that he has to adhere to his roots to find endeavor for himself.
The play has pinches of comedy about Brooklyn but more focused on the Brooklyn Jews. The father is shown as a ill -natured. After looking at the length of his son's book he questions What have you got to say that would take up 384 pages?". Weiss's old friend has turned Orthodox and cannot talk without using a Yiddish word in his conversation. The play also has a blond headed actor thinking he can play the role of Weiss in the movies adaptation. There is an agent who describes Weiss's story as little "too ... ethnic" for Hollywood.

The scene is supposed to be a touching one due to the circumstances in which the meeting took place as well as the disconnect between the father and son. But instead of being serious it turn out be a hilarious scene with laugh on nearly every line. Weiss's father is shown complaining about the food served in hospital and his aunt disappointed with him for not wearing a tie when he appeared on the Today" show.
