110 In The Shade
110 in the Shade- a musical, taken by N. Richard Nash from his play The Rainmaker- was opened October 24, 1963 at the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway in New York City and ran for 331 performances. Songs included "Love, Don't Turn Away," "Poker Polka," "Everything Beautiful Happens at Night," "You Ain't Fooling Me," "Old Maid," "Raunchy," "The Little Red Hat," and "Is It Really Me?". The production starred Robert Horton and Inga Swenson, and Lesley Ann Warren made her debut in a supporting role.
The show is staged for revival during the 2006-2007 Broadway season. The Roundabout Theater Company production feature Audra McDonald in the lead and direction by Lonny Price. The production will open soon in coming days. Casting has been announced for Theatre Under the Stars' new production of 110 in the Shade, which will include songs not in the original Broadway production.

 One of the most beautiful and memorable musicals ever written becomes a Theatre Under The Stars premiere, based on the famous play The Rainmaker by N. Richard Nash that was later turned into a film starring Burt Lancaster and Katherine Hepburn.
According to TUTS, "In the middle of a heat wave in 1930s Texas, when everyone is longing for rain, or a breeze, Lizzie Curry is on the verge of becoming a hopeless old maid. Her wit, intelligence and skills as a homemaker can't make up for the fact that she can't find true love. Even the town sheriff, for whom she harbors a secret yen, won't take a chance. However, when a charismatic rainmaker named Starbuck enters the town and her family's life, Lizzie's world is turned upside down."
