Legally Blonde
As people might remember form the movie, Elle Woods is one high maintenance girl who loves shopping, fashion and the color pink. When her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone more "serious", and as one might imagine, Elle is crushed. She mopes around until she comes up with a plan to get her man back. Her plan involves following him to Harvard to prove to him that she can be the type of woman he is looking for. She looks to her sorority sisters to help her study for the LSATS and she makes a huge production in the Harvard admissions office, which includes male cheerleaders and a marching band, to prove she is an excellent candidate to attend Harvard. In the name of love, she is accepted to the school and the fun begins. As one might imagine Elle has some trouble fitting into Harvard and the only person willing to help her is a teacher's assistant named Emmett Forrest. Elle thinks it is hear blonde hair that is holding her back so she decided to go brunette. At the salon Elle runs into her ex -boyfriend's new fiancée, Vivienne, who surprisingly invites her to a party. When Elle arrives at the party all dressed up in her costume, she very quickly realizes that Vivienne tricked her and the party is not a costume party. Elle is not discouraged and holds her head high as she sets out to find Warner to attempt to get him back. Unfortunately, he still is not interested. Elle leaves the party very upset. She runs into Emmett, the teaching assistant, who tries to get her to realize that her love for Warner is what is actually holding her back. This finally clicks for Elle and she goes on to beat Warner in a debate. All three characters, Warner, Vivienne and Elle earn themselves very prominent intern positions with their Professor. During that same time Warner proposes to Vivienne.
Act II brings a whole lot of love and law to the stage. Elle's first case is a murder case involving a former sorority sister. With her own unique flair and style Elle is able to solve the murder mystery and get her friend of the hook by getting the witness to confess their many secrets. Warner is so impressed by her skill that he wants Elle back, but Elle will have nothing to do with him and turns down his proposal. The story then fast forwards to 3 years later to graduation time and the audience is treated to an update of what all the characters have been up to. The finale includes love for Elle, when she proposes to Emmett and he happily accepts. Legally Blonde is a fun and funny production and the cast is full of energy. Take a break and enjoy the show!
