 The figure skaters beneath the colorful costumes are first-rate, and the special effects nothing short of spectacular, which should keep the more discerning viewers (aka parents) occupied. But the giggling core audience (aka kids) is mostly happy just for the chance to see Dopey and his posse whirl around to the recorded sounds of "Whistle While You Work."
Several of these "Disney-capades" have been crisscrossing the country, some based on specific shows (like "Beauty and the Beast") and others serving up a pastiche of the studio's beloved characters and songs. This production, for example, blends Pinocchio and Buzz Lightyear to Timon and Pumba--plus old reliable Mickey Mouse and Jiminy Cricket thrown in for good measure.
