American Buffalo
American Buffalo is the David Mamet story of Don, Teach, Bob and Fletcher as they try to steal back the coin Don unknowingly nickel for much less than it is worth. American Buffalo tickets explores the events that follow as Don and his friend Bob plan to raid the wealthy man's coin collection on a weekend he is supposed to be out of town. Teach, an old friend of Don's, comes into the picture and gets Bob thrown off the job. Things go awry and the plan comes unhinged. In the end many get what they deserve and Don and Bob's strained friendship survives, amended.
David Mamet wrote American Buffalo with the same concise, vulgar style that has epitomized all his work. The short, tough lines bring a certain reality to a play set in modern times. The play premiered in 1977 and the original audiences were treated with tickets to the play that won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for best play that year.

 In 2008 American Buffalo will be revived. This time John Leguizamo, Cedric the Entertainer, and Haley Joel Osment will take to the stage to present the tale of friendship, betrayal, and desperate times. The performances will begin on October 31, 2008 at the Belasco Theatre for the limited engagement schedule that will go until April 19, 2009.
