A Little Night Music
A Little Night Music is a musical by Stephen Sondheim. Sondheim has written the music, the book has been written by Hugh Wheeler. A Little Night Music debuted on Broadway at the Shubert Theater on 25th February 1973. The cast of the original included Glynis Johns, Len Cariou, Hermione Gingold, Victoria Mallory, Mark Lambert, Laurence Guittard, Patricia Elliott, and D. Jamin-Bartlett. The musical was widely appreciated and went on to win the Tony Award for Best Musical and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award.

A Little Bight Music is a story of a Fredrik Egerman who is a lawyer and is married to his teenage wife Anne. Al thought the couple have been married for eleven months they have yet to be physically intimate. So Anne is still a virgin. In spite if this there are no major problems between the couple. Trouble arises when the couple go to watch a play in the theater, Here Fredric encounters his old flame Desiree Armfeldt. All his feelings start coming back and Fredrick ends up in bed with Desiree. But there is another twist, Desire is the mistress of military man, Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm. To make matters worse, Fredrick's son, Henrik is also in love with Anne. The climax of the play takes place at the country estate of Desiree's mother Madame Armfeldt, mother of Desiree.
The musical is based on a film by Ingmar Bergman film, titled "Smiles of a Summer Night." It's London production debuted in 1974 and starred Jean Simmons, Joss Ackland, David Kernan, Diane Langton, and Hermione Gingold. The play was also made into a film in 1978. The star cast included Elizabeth Taylor, Lesley-Anne Down, and Diana Rigg, with Len Cariou, Hermione Gingold, and Laurence Guittard.
