The Raconteurs is a band of four friends, consisting of Jack Lawrence on bass, Patrick Keeler on drums, Brendan Benson on guitars, vocals, keys and Jack White on guitars, vocals, keys. Once Jack White and Brendan Benson got together and wrote a song that truly inspired them and that song was "Steady, As She Goes". They then thought of forming a band to give more meaningful to their compositions. So they invited their old friends Lawrence and Keeler to joined them. Before forming a band, these four friends were successful in their respective careers with their own band. Well the culmination of all their talents is what truly makes The Raconteurs a force to be reckoned with.

Jack White was born on July 9, 1975 in Detroit as John Anthony Gillis. He is an American. He originally started as a part-time musician working with various underground bands in Detroit, while working by day as an upholsterer. He is best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of the rock duo The White Stripes. As The White Strips became famous, Jack White became popular and was critically acclaimed by many. This enabled him to work with other renowned artists, most notably Loretta Lynn. He is a Grammy-winning rock musician, singer, music producer, and actor. In addition to his music prowess, he is famous for his antics and personality, including his fascination with numbers and color.

Brendan Benson was born in Michigan, in Berkeley. He debuted at the age of 26 with a sterling first album, 1996's One Mississippi. Unfortunately troubles arose in the record company and so it damaged the momentum of the record. Jason Falkner (Jellyfish, the Grays, etc.) wrote again over half of the songs on the album with Benson. But as luck would have it, the very first version of the album, produced by Falkner, was rejected by the label. So they put Benson back in the studio with new producer Ethan James (Jane's Addiction, etc.). After that several tunes produced by Falkner were released by Virgin on a limited-edition EP called Well Fed Boy within a short time. After that One Mississippi was released. Despite positive reviews, One Mississippi sold poorly, as generally major-label power pop albums are supposed to do. Benson spent several years trying to disengaged himself from his Virgin contract while producing and appearing on other artists' records. Lapalco marked his independent debut, and it's critical success spurred his return to the majors in 2005 with The Alternative to Love.

Before joining The Raconteurs, Patrick Keeler was involved in Loretta Lynn's album, Van Lear Rose where he was part of the rhythm section along with Jack Lawrence. He is also the drummer for Cincinnati, Ohio band The Greenhornes.

Jack is highly regarded in his most prominent role as partner to Doc Watson. The two musicians, together, have traveled the country for the last two decades, delighting audiences from coast to coast. Not only this, Jack's style is eclectic, encompassing Americana, blues, bluegrass and "sophisticated folk." Jack also performs as a solo guitarist/vocalist in venues nationally and internationally. As such he is heralded as one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the country.

The Raconteurs released their first album "Steady, as She Goes"was released on April 24, 2006, with the B-side "Bane Rendition." The quartet carry on their recording at Benson's East Grand Studio, whenever they were available from their other projects. The Raconteurs' full-length debut, titled Broken Boy Soldiers, was released on May 15, 2006 to middling reviews. But it entered the UK charts at #2 and the US charts at #7.
