In the beginning of 2002, Jesse Korman and Justin Pedrick were introduced to each other by a mutual acquaintance. The duo realizing that they have the same taste in music decided to form a band. They roped in Christopher Conger, Jamie McIlroy and Alexis Pareja to form the bass-free band 'And Ever'. The band then recorded and came out with a five-song demo. After playing a couple of songs, the band changed their style to some extent, and changed their name to 'The Number Twelve Looks Like You'. The band took the name from the title of an episode of the 'Twilight Zone'.

The band after solidifying their lineup by adding bassist Mike Smagula, began gigging around. The band's rising popularity attracted the attention of an A&R representative from Brutal Records. Within no time, the record company signed the band and came out with their debut full-length album 'Put On Your Rosy Red Glasses'.

The band hit the road to promote their maiden album and after that they signed a recording deal with 'Eyeball Records'. The band then began working on their second effort and first release for Eyeball 'An Inch Of Gold For An Inch Of Time'. The EP released in 2005 had a cover of The Knack's hit, 'My Sharona', two new songs, and a re-recording of 'Don't Get Blood On My Prada Shoes' and 'Jesus And Tori', from their maiden full-length. The band hit the road to promote the EP, after which they entered the studio once again to record their full-length album. The full-length album 'Nuclear Sad Nuclear' was released in 2005. The album also featured apart from 10 new songs two re-recorded songs from their previous EP.

In 2007, the band came out with another full length album 'Mongrel' which spawned hits like 'El Pinata de la Muerte', and 'Sleeping With the Fishes, See?' After the release of the album, the band hit the road in support of the same. Wherever the band performed enthusiastic fans greeted them.
