The National Tickets for Sale

The National is an indie rock band from Brooklyn by way of Cincinnati. The group formed in 1999 and came out with a sound that is part indie, part post-punk, and part revival. Matt Berninger baritone voice resonates as he takes the role of lead singer and songwriter. Aaron Dessner plays guitar, bass, and piano while his brother pays guitar as well. Scott Devendorf plays bass and guitar and his brother Bryan plays the drums. Sometimes Padma Newsome can be found on stage helping out with strings or the keyboard. The National tickets have been selling throughout New York City since the dot-com boom and after the dot-com bust.

The band's first release was American Mary and the National have honored their first studio album by naming their website after it. In 2001 they released their second album, a self-titled affair released through Brassland Records, the label started by the Dessner brothers. It was the self-titled release that enabled the band members to give up their day jobs and focus on their dreams. In 2004 they released Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers. The National tickets have kept their hopes up as they try and transcend their indie position and become music stars throughout the country.
The 2004 release led to a deal with Beggars Banquet Records. They abandoned their own label to focus on their goal as a band and to leave the headaches that come with running a label behind. The move proved to be fruitful. Their first album released on the album found place on Album of the Year charts in publications like the LA Times and Insound Uncut. By 2007 they released their fifth studio album, Boxer. Once again critical praise boosted the album and helped drive sale of albums and the National tickets.
