The Flys
This Hollywood, California, USA-based alt rock band was formed in the early 90s by Adam Paskowitz (vocals), James Book (bass), Peter Perdichizzi (guitar), and Nick Lucero (drums), with additional vocalist/rapper Joshua Paskowitz (brother of Adam) completing the line-up prior to the release of their 1995 mini-album debut 25¢. After several years spent on the college circuit, the quintet broke out of minor league status in 1998 when 'Got You (Where I Want You)', a track from their second album, Holiday Man, was featured prominently on the soundtrack to the movie Disturbing Behavior.

The track's melodic grunge pop sound was not altogether indicative of the band's eclectic approach, which took in rap metal, funk and power pop, but sales of Holiday Man were nevertheless boosted by its success. The follow-up Outta My Way was a harder-edged recording that tied up the band's disparate influences in a more satisfying and coherent manner, but without a track as immediately catchy as 'Got You (Where I Want You)' the album enjoyed less commercial success. Joshua Paskowitz and Nick Lucero were subsequently replaced by Matt Price and Holmes Jones.
