The Cars tickets are concert tickets to see one of the legends of rock and roll from the 1970s and 1980s back together again in the 21st century! Oddly enough, fans owe thanks for this reunion to social networking, a concept not even on the radar the last time this band recorded an album. Ric Ocasek, Elliot Easton, David Robison, and Greg Hawkes each placed a picture of the band from back in the day at Millbrook Sound Studios on their Facebook pages. The result is a Cars reunion and a new album released in 2011.
The Cars tickets have been on sale since 1976, when front man and bass guitarist Benjamin Orr, singer and rhythm guitarist Ocasek, lead guitarist Easton, keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Hawkes and drummer Robinson had finally found the sound and the name that completed the band. That sound was definitely rock, even though The Cars would eventually become a known as a New Wave band in the mid-1980s.
The Cars may now be best remembered for the eponymous debut album thanks to singles like "Just What I Needed", "My Best Friend's Girl", and "Good Times Roll," but the band did not become contemporary superstars until the 1908s when they began to more fully embrace the New Wave music movement. Thanks to album sales after the band initially broke up in 1988, five of the seven studio albums (The Cars – 1978, Candy-O – 1979, Panorama – 1980, Shake It Up – 1981, and Heartbreak City – 1984) have gone at least platinum and the 1985 Greatest Hits album has become a multi-platinum hit.
