The defense proved capable of holding opponents to 20.3 points a game and played its best in tough games near the end of the schedule, holding the then-#8 Oklahoma Sooners to 19 points on November 6th and the then #8 Nebraska Cornhuskers to 6 points on November 20th in two big wins to close the conference season schedule.

Junior Ryan Tannehill has taken over as the starting quarterback for the Texas A&M Aggies. He has thrown for 1,434 yards and 11 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions in six games. His 141.08 QB Rating and 65.3 completion percentage make him a superbly dangerous player and one of two reasons the Aggies were able to salvage the 2010 college football season.

Running back Cyrus Gray has been the other reason. Gray ran for 1,033 yards for the entire season, with most of those yards coming after the three game losing streak, including his 223-yard game to close the season on November 25, 2010 against the Texas Longhorns in the 24-17 win.
