Ted Leo and The Pharmacists Tickets for Sale

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists (a.k.a. Ted Leo/Pharmacists, Ted Leo + Pharmacists, TL/Rx) formed in 1999 in Washington D.C. and have been bringing together the genres of punk rock, traditional rock, folk music, and dub reggae ever since. The group began as a solo project for Ted Leo. Hi band Chisel had broken up and he had jumped around from group to group when he finally began to record his own material. The independent album, tej leo(?), Rx/pharmacists was an experimental recording that earned him some local acclaim, selling enough concert tickets that by 2000 the solo project had become Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.

Still, Ted Leo remained the only true consistent performer in the group. Jodi V.B, Amy Farina, Dorien Garry, and Dave Lerner have played with the led singer/songwriter on stage and in the studio, but the current lineup has Leo accompanied by Chris Wilson on drums, Marty Key on bass, and James Canty on guitar. Though the lineup has often changed the lead singer has created enough of a presence to help keep tickets selling and keep putting albums on the shelves.

In 2001 Ted Leo and the Pharmacists signed a deal with Lookout! Records. As the makeup of the pharmacists continued to change, Ted Leo kept putting out albums. The Tyranny of Distance marked the label debut in 2001 and the group followed with Hearts of Oak in 2003 and Shake the Sheets in 2004. The band continued to reflect the nature of their hometown and focused on political and social topics. These topics in tumultuous times kept the Ted Leo and the Pharmacists tickets selling.

The group left Lookout in 2006 and signed with Touch and Go. After performing at huge music festivals like Coachella and Pitchfork, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists released their fifth studio album, Living with the Living, on March 20, 2007. The group has sold tour tickets with Against Me! and Future of the left in 2008 and is set to tour the East Coast in the summer of 2009.
