Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania and was into music right from her childhood. Swift has been highly influenced by her grandmother, who was an opera singer, LeAnn Rimes and also by other singers. When she was just 10 years old, Swift started performing around her hometown, Wyomissing, and stole the hearts of the audiences at karaoke contests, festivals and fairs. Apart from performing in public places, Swift also started penning songs. Swift had decided to make music her career so in order to further it; she recorded demo tapes at a studio. All of 11 years, Swift armed with her demo tapes went to Nashville and handed out her demo tapes to receptionists at every label on Music Row. At that point of time, nothing came out of the exercise and she returned to Pennsylvania. Then she got an opportunity to sing the national anthem at the U.S. Open tennis tournament, her rendition of the anthem stole the hearts away of the spectators. Her family shifted to Hendersonville, Tennessee, an outlying Nashville suburb to give her better exposure. While performing at Nashville's foremost songwriters' cafe, The Bluebird Café, she was noticed by Scott Borchetta, who immediately signed her to his newly-launched record label, Big Machine Records. Very soon, her maiden single ‘Tim McGraw' was released and was followed by her debut album ‘Taylor Swift'. Swift also opened for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on their Soul2Soul 2007 tour. She also hit the road with Brad Paisley. Her second effort is scheduled to release in 2008.
