Tab Benoit
Tab Benoit is one of the most acclaimed blues guitarists today. The musician, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 17, 1967, plays a combination of swamp, soul, and Chicago blues on his Fender. His interest in the blues began when he was a teenager hanging out at the Blue Box, a music club that is one of the cultural centers of Baton Rouge. He played beside guitarist Tabby Thomas, Raful Neal, Henry Gray, and many of the other blues greats that came to play at the club. Soon he would go from an apprentice to a master, selling Tab Benoit tickets of his own.
His first trio, formed in 1987, toured the bars in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Within two years he was touring the rest of the South, and two years later he was playing shows throughout the United States. Tab Benoit tickets grew in acclaim ass the years went by and he was suddenly a blues legend himself. He released his first record in 1992 and received tremendous critical reception with comparisons to Albert King, Albert Collins, and sometimes Jimi Hendrix.
