January 4, 2011: Sugar Bowl Tickets: Arkansas vs. Ohio State at the Superdome

Sorry, no upcoming events found at this time.

The Sugar Bowl will be held on January 4, 2011 at the Superdome and fans with Sugar Bowl tickets will enjoy a game between the Jim Tressel's #6Ohio State Buckeyes and Bobby Petrino's #8 Arkansas Razorbacks.

Ohio State comes into the BCS bowl tied for first place in the Big Ten with two other teams. The 11-1 overall record and 7-1 conference record were not quite enough to set the team apart from Michigan and Wisconsin. This is still an able college football team heading into the Allstate Sugar Bowl. They score 39.4 points a game while only allowing 13.3. They score because they can both run and pass the ball, rushing for 219.7 yards a game and passing for 229.2.

There are two key players on the Buckeyes offense, Quarterback Terrelle Pryor and running back Dan Herron. Pryor threw for 2,551 yard and 25 TD to 11 INT while also rushing for 639 yards and 4 TD. Herron ran for 1,068 yards and 15 TD. Pryor can throw the ball and his two favorite targets are WR Dane Sanzenbacher (52 receptions, 889 yards, 10 TD) and DeVier Posey (50 receptions, 778 yards, 6 TD).

The Arkansas Razorbacks will join the Buckeyes in the Sugar Bowl. Arkansas finished 10-2 and 6-2 in the SEC. This landed them second in the SEC West, just after Auburn, the team playing in the national championship. The Razorbacks score 37.3 points a game and allow 22.8. The Razorbacks are one of the few highly ranking teams to rely on the pass. They rank third in the nation in passing yards per game with 338.4 and have a healthy 150.8 rushing yards per game average to keep the defense honest.

Arkansas Quarterback Ryan Mallet has 3,592 passing yards this season with 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He spreads the football pretty well, with six players with 27 or more receptions. Running back Knile Davis finished the regular season with 1,183 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.
