Artist Biography - Subhumans (uk)
|
The Subhumans was started with the former members of the band 'Stupid Humans'. Eventually, Dick Lucas the former member of local band 'The Mental' too joined Subhumans. A year after their formation the band came out with its demo record that was highly appreciated in the music circles. The demo was passed on to Graham Burnett of New Crimes fanzine; he in turn sent it to the band Flux of Pink Indian. The band members were so struck by it that they extended the Subhumans a chance to record an album for the newly formed Spiderleg label. Eventually, the band launched its own label Bluurg Records and released a couple of albums.
After the Subhumans broke up, Lucas started the bands 'Culture Shock' and 'Citizen Fish'. The Subhumans had split in 1987, and after nearly a decade reformed and embarked on a US Tour. The band had also toured the US and Canada in the years 2005 & 2006. The Subhumans came out with their new album 'Internal Riot', in September 2007 on Bluurg Records. Most of the year 2007 has seen the band touring Europe and it even crossed the Atlantic in August 2007 to enthrall their fans in the US.
