His next album won him his first Grammy as a "Best Pop Gospel album".
In 1992, Steven decided to make a bid to attract more mainstream audience with his new adventure and eventually won a Grammy. He has worked with EMI/Liberty, records and they handle the marketing of his albums. His live adventure has won more GMA awards and best songwriter award for "American Songwriter magazine". In 2000 Chapman released his next album with his soulful tracks.
