Stereo Skyline is the band that came out of the vestige of pop punk group Valet Parking. After that group disbanded, former member Matt Villani quickly went to work to assemble the pieces for a new group. That group became the Stereo Skyline, and now Stereo Skyline tickets are selling in locations other Long Island after the release of their debut full-length studio album Stuck On Repeat in 2010.
Currently the band is comprised of Kevin Bard as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Clayton Johnson as the lead guitarist and the backing vocals, Brian Maddox as the bassist, and Rob Michelsen as the drummer. This is not the Stereo Skyline that initially took shape in 2006. Matt Villani began by recruiting Jay Marotta and Anthony Purpura from his former group Aerosol and Dane Drozdzewicz and Eddie Dizura. Slowly, every one of these original band members left.
The group played Bamboozle in 2007 and, though the band lineup continued to alter, the biggest change was the addition of manager Jason Aron from Ozon Management, who also managed Boys Like Girls and many more power pop group. Aron forced the group to powerpop from occasionally screaming lyrics. Stereo Skyline, with its new musical direction, went to the studios and recorded a self-titled EP. Amidst these drastic changes, the founder of the group Villani left the group in September 2008.
