State Radio is a rock band from New England. The band's current line-up consists of lead vocalist/songwriter and guitarist Chad Urmston, bassist Chuck Fay and drummer Brian Sayers. The band were formed after the disintegration of the band "Dispatch." Chad Urmston was a former member of the band and if its broke up, he formed State Radio in 2002. Before the final lineup was confirmed Chad released an EP titled " The Flag of the Shiners."
The band released their first full length album, "Us Against the Crown," on February 7, 2006. It must be noted that the band had made their album available on-line months before it reached the music stores. The band's first gig was at the Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge, MA. The band has continued to tour extensively. The have played to sold out crowds in 20 different states including the District of Columbia, Ontario, and British Columbia.
