While the frontcourt is retooling, the backcourt has the most experience. Guard 6'-2' senior Tyler McKinney (4 apg) is back after missing time with eye injuries. He underwent two corneal transplants and is expected to be back this season and start. Creighton also has guards 6'-3' junior Nate Funk (11 ppg) and junior Johnny Mathias.

The frontcourt will try some new pieces, led by 6'-9', 220-lb sophomore Anthony Tolliver and 6'-7' junior Jimmy Motz. This team shot 45% from the field last year, but with so much height gone, that is unlikely this season. Creighton was 14-3 SU, 7-8 ATS at home, and 6-6 SU, 4-8 ATS on the road. A .500 season is far more likely than another 20-win campaign.

It's rebuilding time for the Creighton Blue Jays. Dana Altman's team went 20-9 last season, but lacks height and returns only 2 starters. They lost three of their big cogs in 6'-8' Brody Deren, 6'-10' Joe Dabbert and 6'-7' Mike Grimes.
