Toronto FC Tickets

Toronto FC Tickets
Toronto FC plays in MLS but is ineligible for the U.S. Open Cup. Instead, TFC takes part in the annual Canadian Championship for the Voyageurs Cup to determine the Canadian Soccer Association's representative in the CONCACAF Champions League. Currently Toronto only competes against the Montreal Impact and the Vancouver Whitecaps of the USL 1st Division, although Vancouver will be joining them in the MLS as an expansion team in 2011.
In the championship's inaugural 2008 season, Toronto FC was favored to win the championship, but lost it to the Montreal Impact. The second year of the championship, 2009, in the final game of the championship, TFC needed to beat Montreal by four goals in order to win because Vancouver had a goal differential of +4; anything less would result in Vancouver winning the championship. Amazingly, Toronto stepped up to the task and beat an undermanned Montreal Impact by a score of 6-1 on the back of a Dwayne De Rosario hat-trick. TFC was down 1-0 in the first half but De Rosario scored three straight times, Amado Guevara scored twice, and Chad Barrett once, to gave Toronto the five-goal victory over Vancouver.
While TFC may arguably have the best fan support in the entire MLS, fans are left wondering just when this may finally become a team worthy of the supporters' passion. Maybe Preki will be the manager that pulls it off, but you should probably order some Toronto FC tickets now in order to find out for yourself when TFC hits the field at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario.

2013 Toronto FC
Located in Toronto, Ontario, the Toronto FC soccer club is the first Canadian team to participate in Major League Soccer. Founded in 2006, Toronto FC became the MLS' thirteenth team, joining the league in the 2007 season. Toronto FC is owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, who operate the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the AHL's Toronto Marlies, and the NBA's Toronto Raptors. The franchise plays its home games at BMO Field in Exhibition Place along the Toronto lake shore.
TFC fans have helped make this club one of the MLS' most successful franchises, with the team having been profitable since its first year, regularly selling out in both individual and season ticket sales. Having won the 2009 Nutrilite Canadian Championship, Toronto FC became the reigning Canadian Champions by defeating the Montreal Impact by the four goals needed on the last day of the Championship to win the title.
Toronto FC will have their fourth coach in as many years with the recent appointment of Predrag "Preki" Radosavljevic. Preki coached Chivas USA to three straight playoff appearances before leaving the club at the end of last season. TFC has not had a winning season or made the playoffs since the club's MLS inception in 2006, and this year they will be without defender Adrian Serioux (26 games, 2 goals, I assist) and mid-fielders Carl Robinson (21 games, 2 assists) and Amado Guevara (25 games, 5 goals, 6 assists). They will be beginning the season without Ali Gerba (11 games, 1 goal) who was sent home from training camp due to poor physical condition and performance. Gerba was intended to be a scorer when brought in last summer by GM Mo Johnston, but it certainly didn't pan out as planned with him providing only one goal five starts for Toronto.
This consistent bright spot for Toronto FC has been Dwayne De Rosario, who led last season's team with 11 goals and 5 assists while also showing to be a proven on the pitch. Earlier this offseason, defender Marvell Wynne (21 games, 5 assists) was traded to the Colorado Rapids for mid-fielder Nick LaBrocca who played well for Colorado with 4 goals in 61 games in 2007-09. De Rosario and mid-fielder Julian de Guzman are the two biggest names in a lineup that may not blow anyone away on paper, but with Preki, probably the second-best manager in the East behind Steve Nicol, there is no telling how much this team can improve.
