Background - Fc Schalke 04
By enjoying great popularity and success, the team has always captured the football scene with their winning games. Team's glorious wins during the 1930s and early 1940s earned them huge success and consecutively more popularity. The club is nicknamed as Die Königsblauen (The Royal Blues), Die Knappen (The Miners) and S04. They won their very first major European trophy in 1997 by winning over F.C. Internazionale Milano for the title of the UEFA Cup. Football Club Schalke 04 was formed on May 4, 1904 initially as the Westfalia Schalke. The founder members of the group were high school students, who played in their red and yellow uniform. The club collaborated with the gymnastic club Schalker Turnverein in 1912 in order to gain admittance into an official league. The club gained their foremost honor as the champions of Schalke Kreisliga, in 1923. The club parted from the gymnasts to become an independent team and named themselves as FC Schalke 04. They adopted new blue and white uniforms from which they are recognized today. In 1927, the players stepped into the top-flight Gauliga Ruhr after which they participated at national levels.

Schalke 04 defeated Eintracht Frankfurt with a score of 1 - 3 on 27th January 2007, defeated Alemania Aachen with a score of 2 - 1 on 31st January 2007, defeated Werder Bremen with a score of 0 - 2 on 4th February 2007, defeated Hertha Berlin on 10th February with a score of 2 - 0, defeated VfB Stuttgart with a score of 1 - 0 on 17th March 2007, defeated Borussia M'gladbach with a score of 2 - 0 on 7th April 2007, defeated Mainz on 14th April 2007 and Energie Cottbus on 21st April 2007 with a score of 0 - 3 and 2 - 0 respectively, defeated Nurnberg on 5ht may and Arminia Bielefeld on 19th May 2007 with a score of 1 - 0 and 2 - 1 respectively.
