Background - Fc Dallas
The team was founded in 1996 that is also the inaugural year of Major League Soccer. Initially from 1996 till 2004, the club was known by the name of Dallas Burn. The initials "FC" in the new name, FC Dallas stand for Football Club. During 1996 to 2002 the team played their home matches in the Cotton Bowl. In 2003 to save some money, the club played home games for that season at Dragon Stadium which is a high school stadium located in Southlake, a Fort Worth suburb. But again in the next season, the team moved back again to the Cotton Bowl. There was another change in 2005, when the club moved to a soccer-specific stadium, Pizza Hut Park. To celebrate this much awaited move, the club changed its name to FC Dallas. The official supporters' club for the team is known as Hoops Nation, along with two other active groups- Inferno and La Raza Latina. FC Dallas' oldest rivalry is with Eastern conference rival the Chicago Fire.

 Some notable players who have contributed a lot to the FC Dallas with their powerful performances are like Leonel Alvarez, Kenny Cooper, Chad Deering, Mark Dodd, Ariel Graziani, Shaka Hislop, Eddie Johnson, Jason Kreis, Roberto Mina, Ronnie O'Brien, Oscar Pareja, Jorge Rodriguez, Carlos Ruiz, Hugo Sanchez, Diego Sonora, Alain Sutter and Simo Valakari.
Last season at Pizza Hut Park, FC Dallas could only manage a fifth place finish in the Western Conference. They finished 8-10-12. The team had a number of bad games that lead to the dismal record. Despite being one of the most prolific scoring teams in the league, the Dallas D was far from up to par at times. Though the team actually managed to finish in the middle of the pack in goals allowed, they could not help but dip far below .500.
Kenny Cooper will be delighted if he can keep up the scoring pace he had in 2008. Cooper scored 18 goals, good for second in the league. Andre Rocah and many others will be happy if he is able to be such a dynamic forward so they can boost their assist totals.
The season really hinges on the defenses ability to stop the ball from advancing too far and for goalie Dario Sala to stop a few more shots. Sala may have had seven shutouts, but he played inconsistently adding to Dallas FC's woes.
