Background - Fc Dallas
The team was founded in 1996 that is also the inaugural year of Major League Soccer. Initially from 1996 till 2004, the club was known by the name of Dallas Burn. The initials "FC" in the new name, FC Dallas stand for Football Club. During 1996 to 2002 the team played their home matches in the Cotton Bowl. In 2003 to save some money, the club played home games for that season at Dragon Stadium which is a high school stadium located in Southlake, a Fort Worth suburb. But again in the next season, the team moved back again to the Cotton Bowl. There was another change in 2005, when the club moved to a soccer-specific stadium, Pizza Hut Park. To celebrate this much awaited move, the club changed its name to FC Dallas. The official supporters' club for the team is known as Hoops Nation, along with two other active groups- Inferno and La Raza Latina. FC Dallas' oldest rivalry is with Eastern conference rival the Chicago Fire.

Vice-Captain), Marcelo Saragosa, Pablo Richetti (2nd. Vice-Captain), Abe Thompson, Juan Carlos Toja, Roberto Mina (loan),Ramon Nunez, Clarence Goodson, Arturo Alvarez, Dax McCarty, Drew Moor, Adrian Serioux, David Wagenfuhr, Aaron Pitchkolan, Bobby Rhine, Carlos Ruiz (Captain), Alex Yi, Michael Dello-Russo, Blake Wagner, Dominic Oduro, Anthony Wallace, Andrew Daniels, Scott Jones, Ray Burse, Sandi Gbandi, Kenny Cooper, Dario Sala and Abdus Ibrahi. For the current season the management team includes Michael Hitchcock as General Manager, Steve Morrow as Head Coach, Oscar Pareja and Marco Ferruzzi as Assistant Coach, Bobby Hammond as Director of Team Administration, Dr. Christopher Siodlarz as Team Medical Director, Josh Watts as Head Athletic Trainer, Robbie Cox as Assistant Athletic Trainer, Marcus Owens as Equipment Manager and Daniel Granados as Assistant Equipment Manager.
The FC Dallas club has started the 2007 season with a bang. Even though the first match of the season for the USA Major League Soccer that they played against Real Salt Lake on 7th April was drawn with 2-2, yet in the latter matches the team came out with flying colors. The team defeated Los Angeles by 2-1 on 13th April, Colorado by 3 – 1 on 22nd April, Kansas City by 2-1 on 13th May, Chicago Fire by 2-1 on 18th May, Real Salt Lake by 2-1 on 20th May, Los Angeles by 3-1 on 10th June, Real Salt Lake by 1-0 on 15th June, Colorado by 1-0 on 24th June and Chivas USA by 2-0 on 4th July.
