Background - Bolton Wanderers
Previously called as Christ Church FC, the club was founded in 1874 and renamed their club as Bolton Wanderers in 1877. They are also a founder member of The Football League. From 1935 to 1964 it was the golden era for the team as they enjoyed their top flight soccer games. The team performed at the most famous title, The Stanley Matthews Final of 1953 but was defeated. The team finished up as the runners-up in the League Cup in 1995 and then in 2004. In 1993 Bolton defeated Liverpool that was part of some of their success. Bolton performed at the Premiership in 1995. Despite many ups and downs in their performance the team managed to play consistently throughout their matches. Bolton qualified for the Semi Finals of the FA Cup in 2000 but was defeated by Aston Villa. Victory over their first three games of the 2001-02 season pulled Bolton to the top of the premiership. Besides hard time, the Club managed to stay up and participated with full determination. The 2003-04 season was one of the best seasons for the team in a long time. During May 2004 they qualified for the European Championship and managed to win the last match of the season.

 The team progressed in the 2004-05 season and impressively scored a sixth place finish. The team also qualified for the UEFA Cup for the very first time. They maintained their position in the 2005-06 season and impressed their fans with good performance in the Premiership. The team qualified for the UEFA Cup in 2007 and finished in the 7th position. Bolton is the first club in the Premier League that initiated the price cut for their 2007-08 season ticket. Top scorers for the 2006-07 Premier League are Nicolas Anelka with 11 goals, Kevin Davies with 8 goals and Gary Speed with 8 goals. Bolton defeated Doncaster on 6th January 2007 with a score of 4-0, defeated Watford on 3rd February with a score of 1-0, defeated Fulham on 11th February 2007 with a score of 2-1, defeated Sheff Utd with a score of 1-0 on 31st March, defeated Wigan on 7th April 2007 with a score of 3-1.
